Roof Insurance Claim Assistance

Navigating a roofing insurance claim is not straightforward. All Elite documents the damage, provides adjuster-ready estimates, and supports you through the process from first call to final inspection.

What we provide

Full documentation support

A roofing insurance claim is only as strong as the documentation behind it. Adjusters work from photos, written scopes, and professional estimates. We provide all three at no additional charge to our inspection and estimate process.

  • On-site inspection within 24 hours of your call
  • Photo documentation of every damaged surface, including shingles, flashing, gutters, fascia, and soffit
  • Written line-item estimate in the format insurance adjusters require
  • Adjuster meeting support, so we can be on-site when the adjuster walks the property
  • Supplemental estimate if the initial claim scope misses documented damage
  • Permit pulling where required by your municipality
  • Licensed NJ contractor: HIC #13VH12314700

Step by step

01

Call us before the adjuster

We document the damage in full while it is at its most visible, before it dries, before tarps go up, and before secondary damage develops.

02

Free inspection and written estimate

We walk the roof, photograph every affected surface, and produce a line-item estimate. This is the document your adjuster needs.

03

Adjuster meeting

We can be on-site when your adjuster walks the property. If their scope is incomplete, we provide supplemental documentation.

04

Claim approved and work begins

Once your claim is settled, repairs or replacement are scheduled. We pull required permits, complete the work, and register warranties.

05

Final walkthrough

We walk the completed project with you before we leave. Manufacturer warranty is registered to your address.

What to avoid

Common mistakes that reduce claim payouts

After 25 years of working alongside insurance adjusters in Bergen County, these are the patterns we see most often, and the ones that are easiest to avoid.

Calling the insurance company before documenting

Once you report the claim, your insurer sends an adjuster whose job is to confirm the covered damage, not to find additional damage you missed. Independent documentation before the adjuster arrives ensures nothing gets overlooked.

Waiting weeks to report the damage

Most policies require timely reporting of storm damage. Waiting allows secondary damage to develop. Wet insulation grows mold and wet decking starts to rot. Both can be cited as maintenance failures rather than storm damage.

Accepting the first estimate

If the adjuster's scope misses items we documented, whether flashing, decking, soffit, or a course of shingles, we can submit a supplemental estimate with photos and written justification. Supplements are common and accepted.

Hiring an out-of-state storm chaser

After a major storm event, contractors from out of state will canvass neighborhoods offering quick estimates. Many are not licensed in New Jersey, carry inadequate insurance, and leave when the insurance work dries up. Verify the NJ Home Improvement Contractor license number before signing anything.

Know before you sign

Verify your contractor's NJ license

Any contractor working on a New Jersey home must hold a valid Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) license. You can verify a contractor's license status at the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs website. All Elite's license number is HIC #13VH12314700.

We are also BBB rated A+, GAF Certified, and carry full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We pull permits where required by your municipality and never waive the permit step to save time.
