What we repair

Types of storm damage

New Jersey weather ranges from Nor'easters to summer supercells. Each storm type creates different damage patterns, and different documentation requirements for insurance claims.

Wind & shingle uplift

A single gust at the roof edge or ridge can break the adhesive seal on an entire course of shingles. Once the seal is broken, water gets under the tab and the felt paper starts absorbing moisture. We replace lifted and missing shingles with matching material and inspect the surrounding courses for hidden separation.

Hail damage

Hailstones dent the granule surface off asphalt shingles, exposing the fiberglass mat to UV. The damage is rarely visible from ground level and accelerates shingle aging by years. Insurance claims for hail damage typically require documentation within a defined window. We photograph and document immediately.

Ice dam damage

Ice dams form when attic heat escapes, melts snow at the ridge, and the water refreezes at the cold eave overhang. The pooled water backs under the shingles and saturates the deck. We address the water entry and the attic ventilation issue that allowed the dam to form.

Fallen tree & branch impact

A fallen limb can puncture straight through the deck, crack the ridge board, and compress shingles across a wide area. We assess the full structural impact, ridge, rafters, and deck, before scoping a repair. What looks like surface damage often involves the underlying structure.

Flashing failure from storm

Chimney flashing, pipe boots, and wall step flashing can separate or lift in high winds. Water enters at the penetration point, not through the shingles, which makes the entry point hard to locate. We inspect every penetration and transition.

Gutter damage

Heavy ice, accumulated debris, and tree impact can pull gutters away from the fascia or crush the profile. Separated gutters route water directly against the foundation and behind the fascia board. We repair or replace damaged sections and re-secure the gutter line.

Insurance claims

We help you through the claim process

Most homeowners are not sure what their policy covers or how much documentation the adjuster actually needs. We have worked through hundreds of storm damage claims across Bergen County and know what it takes to support a complete claim.

01

Call us before the adjuster

Most homeowners call their insurance company first. The adjuster documents what they find, which may be less than the full scope. We document the damage first, in detail, so you have an independent record before the adjuster arrives.

02

We document everything

Photo documentation, written description of every damaged surface, and a professional written estimate. Insurance adjusters need line-item documentation, not a verbal summary.

03

We work with your adjuster

We can be on-site when the adjuster walks the property. If their initial scope misses damage we documented, we submit a supplemental estimate with supporting evidence.

04

Repair proceeds on your timeline

Once the claim is settled, we complete the repair or replacement. We work with the claim payout and can advise on upgrading materials if it makes sense for the remaining coverage.
